Doug Wylly is an attorney and aspiring author who recently finished his first novel, The Ruby Infiltration, a secret agent thriller. He is currently on the hunt for a publisher.
Growing up, Doug became a fan of science fiction, murder mysteries, and secret agent thrillers. His favorite authors included Robert Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Mickey Spillane, Rex Stout, Donald Hamilton and Ian Fleming. He credits his love for these authors with turning him around academically. Until about fifth grade, he was a mediocre student at best. But pulp fiction got him reading. That led him to try his own writing at an early age. And from there everything else just fell into place.
Following law school, Doug was a trial attorney for many years. It was exciting work. But the lure of new challenges eventually took him out of the courtroom and into leadership roles.
In addition to reading and writing, in his spare time he likes to ski, kayak, and perform magic for friends and family. He wrote The Ruby Infiltration while commuting on the Long Island Railroad.
Doug was born on Long Island and lived there until he was six, at which time the family moved to the Midwest. After five moves in five years, they settled in Columbus, Ohio. Doug remained there until he moved back east to attend Cornell University and then Brooklyn Law School. A fascination with New York has kept him there ever since.
He currently lives on Long Island with his wife, Virginia, and their Boston Terrier, Archer.
